We’re all about life on the water here at The Bluffs and in addition to our private Beach Club, Bluffs residents enjoy easy access to the Cape Fear River, our community lake and ponds, and resort-style pool. At our Beach Club, folks can enjoy a day along the ocean, complete with private parking, showers and changing rooms, a kitchen and direct beach access. Very few communities in our area offer a beach club amenity for residents and guests. One of the perks of life at The Bluffs is our private community Beach Club. OKI offers 65 public beach accesses, most with parking – making it an easily accessible, beach for the people! Pups love walks on the beach, too! And, they are allowed off their leashes from October 15th to March 15th for plenty of wave-splashing fun!Ħ. Variety is the spice of life and Oak Island offers three forms of it in areas described as mainland, wooded and beach.ĥ.

It’s 153 feet tall and to get to the top, you must take 131 steps via a series of ship’s ladders. Yep, the Oak Island Lighthouse was built in 1957. The island is south facing: meaning, you can sit along the shoreline and capture a sunrise AND a sunset. Stretching 19 square miles with 14 miles of sandy beaches, OKI offers opportunities for fishing, kayaking, canoeing, boating, beach combing, bird watching or just relaxing with sand between your toes!īet You Didn’t Know This About Oak Island…ġ. Oak Island is 24 miles south of Wilmington, making it a short drive for folks – including our Bluffs on The Cape Fear residents – who are looking for salt air therapy. You’ll notice Oak Island’s coastal landscape is dotted with homes and quaint beach rentals, not high-rise hotels and condos. Residents with stories to share and hospitality to offer.
